The Lord has blessed us with many things; family, friends, toys, and so much more. Most importantly, He blesses us with the opportunity to believe in His Son Jesus. Have you ever felt ungrateful for something given to you? Maybe you didn’t get the toy you wanted for Christmas, and in anger, you were not happy with what you did receive. It is wise to remember that many people in the world do not have many material things, but they are still happy for what they do have. How much more grateful should you be for the many blessings God has given you? Write down your blessings and give thanks to God for each one.

Share Together

Answer these questions together. Have an open and honest discussion and learn how each family member can be respectful to each other and other people, as God’s word directs.

  • What are you thankful for?
  • When you are upset because you don’t always get what you want, how do you behave?
  • How can you show appreciation for the things God and your parents have given you?
  • What makes you happy?

Finally, Pray Together!

Set a time each day to pray, asking the Holy Spirit to fill you with the Fruit of the Spirit.

  • As you pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you, look for opportunities to exhibit, in your actions, one Fruit, in particular, that day and another fruit the next day, until you have exhibited each Fruit of God’s Holy Spirit.
